Please read this information before you register for the Recreational Showcase event.

Registration:
This event is optional and registration is open to all
children registered in an independent (i.e. no caregiver participating) recreational class. Specifically, this includes children in MiniGym, KinderGym, Novice, Junior & Senior Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced classes. The registration deadline is June 7, 2025 at 11:59pm. The cost to register is $30 per participant.

Spectators: Each participant may have a maximum of 3 (three) spectators attend. The cost is $5 per person. Children 5 and under are free, but still count as one of the 3 spectators. This limit is to ensure there is seating for everyone and for compliance with our fire code. Spectator tickets are purchased at the door. Spectators will have a great view of everything as in-gym seating is provided. This is also a photo friendly event and you are welcome to take photos and videos as long as there is no flas

Event Format: The event will run like an actual gymnastics competition, complete with judges. You will register your child into one of the SESSIONS that are available for their age group. Children do not participate with their class. Rather children will be grouped with others from across the week who are similar ages and levels. Each session is then divided into four groups, these are called ROTATION GROUPS, and are based on age and ability. Each rotation group will start on a different event and compete simultaneously. When everyone has completed their performances, the children will rotate to their next event. This approach mimics an actual gymnastics competition and makes the event very low stress, as there is always a lot going on in the gym and children do not feel that all eyes are on them.

Event Schedule: Please arrive at the designated start time for your event. The first fifteen minutes is allocated for arrival, check-in and getting spectators into their seats. The doors will not open until the designated start time and/or until the previous group has departed. If you arrive early, please line up outside the gym. We have hosted this event annually for over 20 years, and we almost always run on schedule.

Routines: At the showcase, children will present skills or routines on each of the four events, vault, bars, beam and floor, as well as a group dance.  The children are all learning routines and the group dance in class.  At the showcase, we will also have a special performance by our Acro team and a few of our coaches will demonstrate skills.

Awards & Gifts: Children who participate will receive a certificate of participation with an achievement sticker for each of the four events. They will also receive a ribbon  recognizing their All Around achievement.  Children are NOT ranked against each other, rather each is judged against the standard for their level. Additionally, children will all receive a small thank you gift at the end of the showcase as is customary at gymnastics competitions.

Concession & Merchandise: A small concession stand with popcorn, snacks and cold drinks will be available. We will also have SGE merchandise on sale, including shoe charms, bracelets, and leotards, all of which make perfect congratulatory gifts.
